Episode 566: Which Worm? - interview with Wormwitch
Friday Aug 02, 2019
Friday Aug 02, 2019
The first time we spoke with Prosthetic recording artists Wormwitch it was a memorable occasion. They killed it live supporting the legendary Suffocation. Fast forward a few years and WW are back with a new record, more experience, and a headlining tour of their own. As a bonus, this time we caught up with all three Wormwitchers. We discussed the new record "Heaven That Dwells Within", the growth of the band, and share a road story of the wrong kind of sex in "Sex, Drugs and Rock N Roll" (!!). In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss Metal and Punk bands that have crossed over (not "crossover") to the other's audience. Musically, we crank the new WW, plus Enthroned, Enforced, Cropsy Maniac, Tripsitter, some classics from Nuclear Assault, Dead Kennedys and Ludichrist. Finally, we introduce Canadian punkers Pervcore in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Episode 565: Hatriot Games - interview with Hatriot
Friday Jul 26, 2019
Friday Jul 26, 2019
The Souza name needs no introduction to The Metal World. Steve "Zetro" Souza has attained legendary with the underground for his brilliant work with the mighty Exodus. But his legacy (see what i did there) will live on in the form of Hatriot. Already no stranger to this show, Hatriot is the side project Zetro formed with his sons Cody and Nick. Now with Exodus taking up so much of the elder Souza's time, the band has been left in the capable hands of his offspring. With the new record "From Days Unto Darkness" just hitting the racks, we got Cody Souza on the horn. We discussed the new album, the band monicker in today's political climate, and The Bay Area yesterday and today. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the Tool/bieber thing, The Metallica tix fiasco, and heavy metal underwear(?)!! Musically we crank the new Hatriot, Tomb Mold, Visceral Disgorge, Spirit Adrift, Endless Chaos, a classic from Epidemic, and we introduce BornBroken in our "Indie Spotlight".

Episode 564: Tie Your Metal Down
Friday Jul 19, 2019
Friday Jul 19, 2019
The recent Rob Miller/holocaust denier controversy has been causing quite a stir in the Metal underground. When it came to our attention last episode, things were still up in the air as to what exactly was going on. One of our fave heroines, right behind Doro Pesch and Jo Bench of course, is the mighty Wonder Woman. The Amazonian's "Lasso Of Truth" proves to be an effective weapon is questioning unsavories. It made us think of the possibilities of using it upon Metaldom and getting a straight answer on some burning questions. Who would we use it on? What would we ask them? Being "Creature Feature" - less it made for some pretty interesting conversation. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we give our support to oppressed Iranian metallers Confess and go over the new season of Banger TV's "Shredders Of Metal". Musically we crank cool tune from Abbath, Batushka, Outer Heaven, Pelican, Torso, Bleach Everything and introduce Canadian metalllers Widow's Peak in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns!

Episode 563: Battleground - interview with Centuries Of Decay
Friday Jul 12, 2019
Friday Jul 12, 2019
Its an honour just to compete in the Waken Metal Battle Canada. It's right off the bloody hook if you win the whole shebang and get to strut your stuff on the Wacken stage. Victorious in the 2018 edition was Toronto's Centuries Of Decay. Normally we reserve our "Creature Feature" segment for more established acts (i.e. signed). But when an act with a story to tell like C.O.D. steps up then we gotta step up ourselves. During the outfit's recent stop in our neck of the woods we sat down with axe/vox Devin Doucette. We discussed competing in the Battle then the subsequent gig at Wacken! We're so stoked for them! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss fun in the Behemoth pit and go off on the recent Tau Cross controversy. Musically we crank some Centuries..., Victims, Immortal Bird, Amon Amarth, Flash Out, and introduce Elektric Mistress in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Episode 561: Under Cover
Friday Jun 28, 2019
Friday Jun 28, 2019
Heavy Metallers are a more discerning group of music lovers. Of course its the awesome tunes that count. But Metalheads appreciate the complete package. Now with the rebirth of the mighty vinyl, packaging and presentation is once again an important part of the musical Metal journey. Obviously the first thing that comes to mind is the album cover. While a lot of sub par genres like pop and country are content with a boring band pic, Heavy Metal has a rich history of beautiful artwork. A lot of the time this artwork becomes synonymous with the band itself. This week we sit down with some Lemmys and share our lists of the most Iconic album covers of the genre's illustrious history. We go into extra innings but we guarantee you'll be thinking of RAM the next time your in the music shop. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we celebrate "Go Skateboarding Day" and christen a RAM alum and honorary Canadian!! Musically, we crank new tunes from Saint Vitus, Sekkusu, and Temple Of The Witch. As well as some classics from Bathory, Minor Threat and Beyond Possession!! Horns!!

Episode 559: Used To Love "Em
Friday Jun 07, 2019
Friday Jun 07, 2019
The rock n roll world is all abuzz. Recently Slash himself announced that the reunited trio of Axl, Duff and himself have begun working on new material. Finding ourselves in the previously unknown territory of not having a "Creature Feature" for the second week in a row, we decided it would be a good time to discus the idea of new GnR tunage. Are we excited? Curious? Even care? How will the rest of Metaldom react to new music? Everybody already has strong opinions about the outfit's recorded output. Especially the more controversial songs. A handful of songs garnered a lot negative press and stirred up the shite'. So we took the time to dissect those illustrious songs. Another great episode filled by passion and alcohol!! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we crank some awesome songs in their own right courtesy of Dopethrone, Zaum, and introduce Canadian thrashers Concrete Funeral in this week's "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Episode 558: Money For Something
Friday May 31, 2019
Friday May 31, 2019
With seemingly every band either travelling to and/or playing the Maryland Deathfest we found ourselves without a "Creature Feature" this week. No pro-blem-o. This week we kick up our feet, broke out the beer and Lemmys, and just let loose. Everyone has played the "If I Won The Lottery" game. If money were no object, what would you do. We had our drunken version of this game geared toward Heavy Metal. Where would we go. What we do. How would we contribute further to the Metal World. Crack open one of your faves and give this a listen. In our "News, Views, and Tunes",we pay tribute to artists that created some key Metallic art. We crank some new tunes from Hate, Martydod, Jesus Piece, some classic Sodom and SNFU, and introduce Wykan in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!
