Episode 540: Bello Hurray - interviews with Anthrax and Dust Prophet
Friday Jan 25, 2019
Friday Jan 25, 2019
Another one off the old "Bucket List"! Our fandom for the legendary Anthrax goes back as far as our interest in Metal itself. So we were front row centre to witness the rise of the "Big Four" concept. When 2 of those 4 meet up and get the creative juices flowing you know you're in for something special. Altitudes and Attitude are an amazing new(ish) collaborative effort from 'Thrax and Megadeth bassists Frank Bello and Dave Ellefson. In an interview decades in the making we sat down with Mr. Bello to talk a little A and A. We got the 411 on the project (Frank is an axeman as well), reminisce about first meeting "Junior" and get into some old school Anthrax!! An amazing chat with one of the nice guys in Rock, fer sure. As well, in our "Extended Indie Spotlight" we talk to Manchester NH's stoner rockers Dust Prophet! Remember you heard 'em here first. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we acknowledge the dubious anniversary of the infamous Ozzy bat head incident. In light of recent events, we discuss Cannibal Corpse's spot on the Slayer farewell tour. Musically we crank our guests and new tunes from Raven, In The Fire and A Pale Horse Named Death! Horns!!

Episode 539: Killit 'Em All - interviews with Wristmeetrazor and Annihilator
Friday Jan 18, 2019
Friday Jan 18, 2019
This week we find ourselves focusing on a couple young killer outfits that are poised to turn some heads in a big way! Metalcore (revivalists ??) Wristmeetrazor's label debut (Prosthetic) is fresh on the racks. Having already raised some eyebrows with their controversial monicker, they're about to bludgeon your ears with this solid record. We spoke with bass/vox Justin Furnof about the whys and wherefores of the band including their debut and said band name. We stoked to be on the ground floor with this cool outfit. As well, we caught up with Canadian axeman Aaron Homma. Currently this young gun is most noted as second guitar for thrash legends Annihilator. But he takes front and centre for his own project, the pop culture homage metallers Killitorous. In a cool chat in our "Extended Indie Spotlight", Mr. Homma explains the idea behind his unique outfit and landing the gig with Annihilator. Gotta say, Killitorous is easily one of the best band names ever! In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we discuss the recent international news making "tampon spot" from pro wrestler (and RAM alum) "Hell's Favourite Harlot" Priscilla Kelly. As well as the feel good Vio - Lence reunion and punk bible "Maximum Rock N Roll" ceasing the print format (Boo!). Finally, we feature a shit ton of tunes including our the latest from our guests plus Vomitor, Genocide Pact, Gruesome, Scissorfight, FaithXTractor, and Childbite! Whew! Horns!!

Episode 538: The 2018 Rammy Awards
Friday Jan 11, 2019
Friday Jan 11, 2019
2018 is in the books! As we change the calendar and prepare to break our New Years Resolutions, this is a time for reflection on the past 365 days. What a rollercoaster of highs and lows the year was! Fans of extreme and underground music don't put much stock in awards shows. We have our own idea of what's good and how to celebrate it. Thus The 12th Annual Rammy Awards! Basically this year end episode is our piss take on the grammies. We go over what moved us the most in categories that Metal fans actually give a flying fukk about - Band, Album, Song, Live Show, News Story a.o. And as is tradition we select our nominees into the R.A.M. (Thus RAMmy, geddit??) Hall Of Fame. Musically, we rep some of the finest/coolest tune the year had to offer with Yob, Tomb Mold, Neckbeard Deathcamp, and Blood Of The Sun. Heres to the year that was and Horns to another amazing year!

Episode 537: Chaos Begins - interview with Flotsam And Jetsam and Inhumed
Friday Jan 04, 2019
Friday Jan 04, 2019
Let's hit the 2019 ground running! When veterans Flotsam and Jetsam first jumped onto the Metal scene they really stood out. First because of their unique monicker. Then they established themselves as an unfuckwithable force whose career would surpass three decades and (now) 14 records with the arrival of their new platter, "The End Of Chaos"! Axeman Micheal Gilbert is the FandJ driving force and is no stranger to RAM having been in our hotseat before. This time 'round we pick his brain about the new record and their spot with AFM Records. We discover a mutual love of hockey. And we go over the recruitment of their amazing new skinsmen, none other than Mr. Ken Mary!! All this and nary a word of you-know-who! We're also stoked to bring you a fantastic chat with Canadian death metallers Inhumed in our "Extended Indie Spotlight"! Vokillist Mike Mason sat down with us to give us the 411 on his awesome project. In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we butt heads with some some hardcore buttheads and get into the ridiculousness that is Acidic Vaginal Liquid Explosion Generated by Mass Amounts of Filthy Fecal Fisting and Sadistic Septic Syphillic Sodomy Inside the Infected Maggot Infested Womb of a Molested Nun Dying Under The Roof of a Burning Church While a Priest Watches and Ejaculates in Immense Pleasure Over His First Fresh Fetus. *Whew* Yes, that's a band name!! Musically, we crank our guest's latest efforts plus The Ocean, Funeral Chic, Owlcrusher, and (Acidic Vaginal... abbreviated monicker) Xavlegbmaoffassssitiwoamndutroabcpwaeiippohfffx!! Happy New Year and Horns to 2019!

Friday Dec 28, 2018
Merry (belated) Xmas everyone!! It may not seem like the winter holidays around here, what with the lack of Christmasy-type tunes. But we're still in the giving spirit as this week we present not one but two kick ass interviews. Good Fight recording artists Cryptodira are currently killing it on the road in support of their label debut "The Devil's Despair". We sat down and spoke with the whole squad discussing touring Europe, working with Good Fight, and the band's musical recommendations. Direct support came from Boston hometowners Chuggernaut. An awesome band we had to speak with as well for an "Extended Indie Spotlight". In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss meeting and photographing Dave Ellefson (!!) and dissect a recent survey about imbibing at concerts. Musically, we crank the latest releases from our guests, plus new tunes from Outer Heaven, Rolo Tomassi, and Inoculated Life! Horns!!

Episode 535: Goblin Rock - interview with Claudio Simonetti's Goblin
Friday Dec 21, 2018
Friday Dec 21, 2018
It might be just days before Christmas but around the RAM offices it's still feeling a lot like Halloween. The legendary 70s prog rockers and horror film soundtrack composers Goblin need no introduction. The band has scored beautiful music for such classics as "Suspiria", "Dawn Of The Dead", and "Profoundo Russo". Mainman Claudio Simonetti is basically the John Williams of extreme cinema. Now touring as "Claudio Simonetti's Goblin", we were treated to a unique screening of "Suspiria" with the band playing the music parts live!! After the show we sat with Mr. Simonetti with a glass of red wine and we talked about this unique tour, working within the Metal scene, and his take on the recent "Suspiria" remake. Musical royalty!! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we address the bizarre Pat O'Brien thingy and crank some Goblin, Cast The Stone, Mother Feather, Slasher Dave, Expire, Zombie Assault and (of course) Zombi. Finally, we feature veterans The Last Ten Seconds Of Life in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Episode 534: Scarred 4 Life - Tattooing and Heretic Legion interview
Friday Dec 14, 2018
Friday Dec 14, 2018
The fine art of tattooing has become more and more prevalent in the Heavy Metal community. Back in the day, really only a handful of artist were tatted up in any meaningful way. Now it seems everyone and their Hound of Hades has some form of body art. Personally, we're not inked (pierced, or dyed) so we had to bring in an expert on the subject. Kay Stewart is a local veteran ink artist and a prominent member of the Metal community. And one cool Dudette!! She was gracious enough to give us a moment of her time. We discussed the correlation between tats and Rock n Roll, the so called "reality" shows, and the trials and tribulations of tatting in general. In our "Extended Indie Spotlight" we go one of Metal's capitals, Sweden. We spoke with death metal upstarts Heretic Legion. An outfit keeping up the tradition of Swedish excellence. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the (latest) Gene Simmons sexual battery lawsuit and play "Should and Will" with the recently announced Grammy nominees. Musically, we crank our guests, some classic Machetazo and new tunes from Disrule and Nazareth!! Horns!!

Episode 533: Hump Day 13 - interviews with Wednesday 13 and Sonic Pulse
Friday Dec 07, 2018
Friday Dec 07, 2018
The wonderful world of rock n roll is full of cool characters. Wednesday 13 is one such character. For the uneducated normies, we always liken Mr.13 to a "modern day Alice Cooper". The dude has a storied career with no let up in sight. Most notably his latest platter (and Nuclear Blast debut) "Condolences". Wednesday recently came thru town making it an opportune to hang out with him. We discussed said record plus his love of horror flicks and 'The Nature Boy". Whoooooooo!! Aside the the creepiness and zaniness, Wednesday has a real ear for talent. Pounding the skins for 13 is Kyle Castronovo. If that name strikes a familiar chord, old timers will remember the senior Castronovo behind the kit for Journey. So there was definitely a story there with Jr. to which he was eager to share. But the awesome characters/guests don't stop there. WE spoke with former Horror Pain Gore Death recording artists Sonic Pulse in our "Extended Indie Spotlight". They gave us the 411 on their new record "Vs. The Internet". In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go over what we're looking forward to in '19, Steel Panther in "sex" rehab, the infamous Witchrot band breakup announcement, and "No Nut November" (??!!).Musically we crank our guests plus the new Lucifer's Child, hardcore bashers La Armada and BloodStrike!! Horns!!

Episode 532: Skullduggery - interview with Mem Stein of Exumer and Skullpit
Friday Nov 30, 2018
Friday Nov 30, 2018
This week real life gave us a real cheap shot in the pit! To the point where Snowy found himself going about this episode all by his lonesome. So lets call it a "Snowlo" episode, shall we. Not to be deterred, we weren't not going to let a single second of the show suffer. We kept all the usual segments, particularily the "Creature Feature". This time 'round we speak with none other than Exumer vocalist Mem Stein. Already big supporters of his day gig, we are stoked for his new side project, Skullpit! A new endeavour collaborating with Church Of Misery's Tatsu Mikami. We got on the horn with Mr. Stein to discuss the coming together of these musical titans and the brilliant debut record. We had to discuss some Exumer, especially the early days and their oft over looked mascot-with-no-name. Awesome stuff! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go over sex in the front row at a Machinehead gig and give the "Horns Up!" to Testament's Chuck Billy, Every Time I Die axeman Andy Williams, and the recently announced "Black Flags Over Brooklyn" festival. Musically we crank some Skullpit and some new tunes from Sodom, Scolex, Deadpressure, Flash Out, and Esben And The Witch. Horns!!

Episode 531: Mythological Metal - interview with Ashes Of Ares
Friday Nov 23, 2018
Friday Nov 23, 2018
We got stoked for the announcement of a new Ashes Of Ares album for a variety of reasons. First off, its the long awaited follow up to their five year old debut. The effort's monicker took us back to the first Indiana Jones flick (!). But most importantly, it afforded us the chance to have a long time coming sit down with mainman Matt Barlow. Metallers will be familiar with Mr. Barlow for his amazing discography with Iced Earth. Now he's remaking Metal history with his sorta new "offering" (ha,ha), Ashes Of Ares. We discussed the new record "Well Of Souls". As well as his tribute to the late, great Chris Cornell and his career as a police officer(!). In our 'News, Views, and Tunes", we share some war stories on the live front, go further in the the Oli Herbert saga, and give our 2 cents on the "Decibel Top 40 Albums of 2018". Musically, we crank the new Ashes... record plus the latest efforts from Tomb Mold, Ken Mode, Evoken, Fleshreaper, and Wristmeetrazor!! Horns!!
