Friday Oct 16, 2020
Friday Oct 16, 2020
Happy 14th Bday to us!! What a long strange trip it's been (OK, we'll let ourselves out). But as much as we'd like to sit back and bask in our back patting, we've got a lot of Metal to get to. Last year we had the good fortune of hanging with none other than Vicious Rumors' founder/axeman Geoff Thorpe as the band crossed the country. Now their new album "Celebration Decay" is still fresh on the racks. So we got Mr. Thorpe on the horn to catch up. We discussed the new album and the ideas behind it, the influence of horror, and keeping in touch with old friends from the Bay Area. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", there is only one subject - the loss Eddie Van Halen. So we took the time to discuss some of fave VH sounds and moments. Musically, we crank the new VR plus new stuff from Raven, Nightmare, Mad Max, Witchtarap, The Troops of Doom and introduce Halifax bangers Ancient Thrones in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!

This crazy 2020 may be slowing the world down. But the good folks at Relapse Records are staying busy as ever. They've had another metric metal tonne of awesome releases and we've done our best at covering them. But - Wow!! So we find ourselves with the pleasure of presenting not one but two amazing "Creature Features" from the Relapse roster. The new Primitive Man album "Immersion" is killer and we got Ethan McCarthy on the horn to discuss it. As well, labelmates Realize just dropped their latest platter of industrial metal madness, "Machine Violence". We spoke with Kyle Kennedy (Sex Prisoner) to get the 411 on the all the going ons in his camp. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we won another radio contest and pay tribute to pro wrassler Road Warrior Animal. Musically, we crank this week's guests + new and cool tunes from Coffins, Sex Prisoner, Voracious Scourge, Gorephilia, Vermin Womb, Horsewhip, and Malhavoc! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Last episode we had an amazing "Creature Feature" whose roots lay in the heyday of The Bay Area. Seven days later, we return to that hallowed scene. In a roundabout way. The Metallica camp is rocking and rolling with the release of "S&M2", the metallers second collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony providing a fresh spin on some old faves. One of the highlights is the contribution of Symphony bassist Scott Pingel. Mr. Pingel was bestowed the honour of performing the beloved "Anethesia" bass solo. So this proved to be the perfect time to get Mr. Pingel's thoughts on the project. Unbelievable!! But the fun doesn't stop there. In our "Sidestage" interview, we chatted with our old friend Sue Decree as her Digregorio project's new release is about to drop. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we sign a petition for the Boss HM-2 pedal and call out trump for his ironic use of CCR's "Fortunate Son". Finally we crank some tunage from Johannson and Speckmen, All Pigs Must Die, D.O.A., and Mongrel's Cross. Whew!! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 623: Hexxellent!! - interview with Hexx
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
It's always exciting when some one from the legendary Bay Area joins us. Hexx may not roll off the tip of the brain like some of their contemporaries. But they were in the thick of things going back to the glorious demo days of '83. Now in 2020, the band is showing no signs of letting up. The new album "Entangled in Sin" just hit the new release rack. So it's time to talk with axeman/mainman Dan Watson. We go over the new record, share some Bay Area goodness and finally... we found someone with something positive to say about the controversial Wild Rags (!!) Records. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we give the Horns to Necrot for all their recent Billboard success. Musically, we crank the new Hexx + cool stuff from Messiah, Spell Book, Iron Reagan, Laaz Rockit, Toxic Death and introduce North Dakota's Gorgatron in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns and Stay Healthy.

Episode 622: Casting Spells - interview with Incantation
Friday Sep 11, 2020
Friday Sep 11, 2020
The whole "This person/place/thing needs no introduction" is a cliche. But its none the less true for this episode's "Creature Feature". The legendary Incantation has been a death metal flagwaver, standardbearer, and trailblazer since '90. And axe/vox John McIntee has been there from the get go. Our chat with Mr. McIntee is long overdue. But no better time like the present as the band has dropped their 12th (!!) killer full lengther in "Sect Of Vile Divinities". We go over said record, discuss his side projects, and he shares is wisdom of the Metal world. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we pay tribute to some fallen RAM alum and share our Record Store Day booty. Musically, our former co host Roch joins us to review the new Great Kat. As well, we crank some Incantation both new and classic + some Power Trip, Apartment 213, Shed the Skin, Tribe of Pazuzu, and Nocturnal Departure. In our "Indie Spotlight" we welcome the returning Endast!! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Friday Aug 28, 2020
Friday Aug 28, 2020
If nothing else 2020 has been a banner year for Canadian death metal trio VOTOV. In one some way, shape or form, we've been following these hometown heroes for some three decades. Now the pay off is upon us. The band just dropped their label debut album "I.X.X.I." Courtesy of the fine folks at CDN Records. So now in a long over due "Creature Feature", we caught up with the guys at the Fiery Gates Ov Hell!! Ok, it was their rehearsal space. Chuck LaBossiere (axe/vox), John Duke (bass) and skinsman Derek Kroll let us in on the whys and wherefore of said album, their unique monicker, and we discussed making Heavy Metal history!! Spoiler Alert: definite potential Rammy territory here! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the "We Summon The Darkness" Netflix flix and some Quiet Riot. In tribute to the immortal Frankie Banali. Musically, we crank the new record + new Skeleton, Reserving Dirtnaps, Decayed Flesh, Assimilation and Sadistic Embodiment. Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 620: Necrock 'N Roll - interview with Necrot
Friday Aug 21, 2020
Friday Aug 21, 2020
Right now, Tank Crimes recording artists Necrot are most deserved darlings in the Metal underground. The new album "Mortal" is set to drop and is already all the buzz. These Oakland bashers are no strangers to the RAM offices though. We've been hyping them from the get go, pushing their last record with main man Luca Indrio. This time 'round though we tapped drummer Chad Gailey. Not only for his brilliance on said record, but we've been luvin' his other projects Mortuous and Vastum as well. So we got Mr. Gailey on the horn and he gave was the 411 on all things Necrot. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss Metallica at the drive inn (!) and sign a petition for 1cent per stream pay outs from Spotify. Musically, we crank the new Necrot, some more Mortuous, Votov, Ghoulhouse, Dystopia, 2 Minute Minor, and Sadistic Intent. In our "Indie Spotlight", we feature Boston grinders Stagnater! Hors Up And Stay Healthy!

Episode 619: Rockett Man - interview with Onslaught
Friday Aug 14, 2020
Friday Aug 14, 2020
With the world in upheaval right now, a lot of people might just be ready to throw in the 2020 towel. Pop culture might be taking a beating but the wonderful world of Heavy Metal is still Deliverin' The Goods!! Case in Point - the killer new record from legendary British bruisers Onslaught. "Generation Antichrist" is already in contention for "Album Of The Year" around the RAM offices. Onslaught mastermind Nige Rockett was eager to come back on the show and give us the low down. We discussed the modernizing of their Satanic lyrics, their (non) spot in NWOBHM, and reminisced about the polarizing "In Search Of Sanity" album. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we get deep into the recent controversial statement from spotify's CEO and make a Last Will and Testament for Snowy's music collection. Musically, we crank some Onslaught, old and new. Plus, tunage from Terminal Nation, Concrete, Exhumation and Bitches Sin! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Thursday Aug 06, 2020
It may say "Metal" on the marquee, but we've never shied away from covering all genres of heavy music. Punk rock legends Dead Kennedys are an outfit we practically grew up with. Upon their demise, Jello Biafra remained on our radars thru his spoken word performances. But admittedly, the rest of our "Fab Four" kind of fell off our radars. Until now. We had the golden opportunity to speak with DKs axeman East Bay Ray as his new(ish) project The Killer Smiles recently dropped their latest record. Another "Bucket List" moment as we discussed KS' album "Raising The Stakes", the differences between his projects, and Mr. Ray shows he still has the punk rock spirit. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we crank some killer tunes from said Smiles, Messiah, Thundermother, and of course some classic DKs. In our "Indie Spotlight", we head to LaLaLand some some brutal death metal with Bloodfeast Ritual. Honrs Up and Stay Healthy!
