Episode 616: The Twitter Trap
Friday Jul 24, 2020
Friday Jul 24, 2020
No "Creature Feature" = no pro-blem-o! We may not have an interview subject to grill, but there's still plenty of meat on this week's bone to gnaw on. First off, we compare and contrast the handling of this covid crisis at live shows in the US (Great White) compared to Switzerland (Destruction). Also, twitter has been all the rage in the Metal World as we go over the recent Chris Jericho/Sebastian Bach debacle. As well, we go over why trapt had abysmal first week sales. Some people just need to keep their twitter traps shut! To help figure all this out we enlisted the expertise of Shit Happens drummer/Ninjacat Productions dude, Dustin "Ducky" Maruca. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we pay tribute to the legendary Chi-Pig (SNFU). Musically, we crank tunage from Mortuous, Live Burial, Entry, Manhole, of course some SNFU, and introduce Arizona's The Exiled Martyr in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 615: Spirit On Radio - interview with High Spirits
Friday Jul 17, 2020
Friday Jul 17, 2020
The story of Chicago rockers High Spirits is kind of unique. Led by the amazing Professor Black, the outfit doesn't even really consider themselves Metal. They have their own self coined description of "high energy rock". But they actually came to the attention of the underground via Hell's Headbangers (??!!). So if they come recommended by the good folks at HH, then we've got to check 'em out. Bonus that their new record "Hard To Stop" courtesy of High Roller Records just dropped as well. So we sat down with the Good Professor to discuss the new album, working with Hell's, and his incredible three album and two EP 2018. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss combating covid and Tom Araya...in his PJs (??!! again). Musically we crank the new HS, some Professor Black solo, label mates EVO (Warfare), plus new tunage from Power Trip, Defeated Sanity, Solanum, Inhumed and introduce Canadian fvckers Turbo in our "Indie Spotlight"! Stay Healthy and Horns Up!!

Episode 614: Hoof Fetish - interview with Cloven Hoof
Friday Jul 10, 2020
Friday Jul 10, 2020
We first discovered NWOBHMers Cloven Hoof as young 'uns going Metal full time. The Hoof's monicker and imagery convinced us to grab their '84 debut sound unheard. W've been HoofHeads ever since. With their latest album "Age Of Steel" dropping among the chaos, it was a opportune time to get main Hoofman Lee Payne on the horn. We discussed the new record, their spot in British metal history, and he shares the strange occurrences recording the aforementioned debut. Eerie stuff! Another long overdue "Bucket List" interview. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss the recent attempt-at-being-PC-and-relavent name changes from David Lee Roth and dixie chicks. Musically, we crank the new Hoof, Satan, Destructor, Abigail, Lantern, Witch Taint (!!) and introduce TX deathsters Torture Tomb in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 613: Hello Newman - interview with CDN Records
Friday Jul 03, 2020
Friday Jul 03, 2020
As dedicated fans (first) of our beloved genre we like to think we have a pretty good grasp on everything going on. All the whos, whats, whys, and wheres of Heavy Metal, past and present. But there's just soooo much going on that it's impossible to keep track of everything. Still, we're embarrassed to say Canadian underground Metal label CDN Records only came to our attention just last year. We first met CDN head honcho Craig Newman on the streets of Montreal at the Quebec Deathfest. Fast forward and CDN has a slew of cool new releases burning up our stereos. So now's the time to talk shop with Mr. Newman. We discussed everything about this underground phenom and get to know the man himself. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go deep on censorship and capitalism in the scene. Musically, we crank CDN recording artists Goreworm, Votov and Bastard Son. Plus Kruelty, Bloodcum and Culted! Horns and Stay Healthy!

Episode 612: Oh The Insanity! - interview with Insatanity
Friday Jun 26, 2020
Friday Jun 26, 2020
When death metal veterans Insatanity announced their comeback full lengther "Hymns Of The Gods Before", we got excited. When it was announced they signed onto good friends of the show CDN Records for it, we were thrilled. When we managed to get bass/vox Chris Lyle on the horn, we went delirious! During our chat with Mr. Lytle we discussed the aforementioned record as it was hitting the racks at that very moment. As well we discussed landing on CDN, the band's glorious Unisound daze, and he introduced the killer new line up!! It was insatane!! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discussed our world re opening post (sorta) covid. And we make our picks to play Lemmy in the upcoming biopic! Musically, we crank the new Insatanity and new stuff from old label mates Mortuary Drape and Varathron. Plus new tunage from Vile Creature, Ulthar, Einangran and introduceCanadian basher's Serene Dark in the "Indie Spotlight". Horns up and Stay Healthy!

Deceased are up to their old tricks again. Going through their vast discography it's obvious they're not afraid of the odd cover tune. As evident by their "Rotten To The Core" and "Cadaver Traditions" cover comps. So now with the "Ghostly White" album cycle in the books, good friend of the show Mr. King Fowley, is putting their down time to some good use. Thus "Rotten To The Core...2." So we got His Kingliness on the horn to discuss this latest project as well as a few other things like the band's run in Chris Barnes back in the day. King's always good for a story or three. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we weigh in on the Tom Morello/ignorant fans situation and cast our votes to get Oderus Urgungus immortalized in Richmond. Musically, we crank some Deceased, Cauldron Black Ram, Carrion Vale, Wraith, Final Conflict, Nunslaughter, and of course, Gwar!! Finally, we introduce Canadian black metaller Hellmoon in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Danish legends Pretty Maids have been on our radar since their '84 debut. The band always stuck out amongst the underground as they were one of the few bands hailing from Denmark. Throughout the 90's, as hard rock bands took a hit, Pretty Maids continued to thrive. And are still killing it today. PM's latest live album "Maid In Japan: Back The Future World" is still fresh on the racks. So it's a good time to scratch another off the old Bucket List and speak with mainman Ronnie Atkins. We discussed the whys and wherefores of the new live package, their unique monicker, and the old days of the Copenhagen scene. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss the upcoming Record Store Day(s) and call out "Zebraman" from the old Heavy Metal Parking Lot!! Musically, we crank the latest ventures from Pretty Maids, new Poltergeist, Tokyo Blade, Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper, Killitorous, Oxygen Destroyer, and introduce new Winnipeg D.I.Y. label Frozen Hell Records in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns up and Stay Healthy!

We always dug the idea of split albums. It showcases two artists for the price of one and aids in the discovery of great new artists. Even better are you dig both artists. Better still when both bands are fronted by someone you'd call "friend". Metal meister Matt Harvey is fronting a fistful of great bands. His most notable being Exhumed and Gruesome. "Twisted Horror" is an awesome new split from both outfits, so we again called up our old buddy. We discussed all the deets that went into the creation of this (somewhat) unique album. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we go deep into the chaos across America right now and pay tribute to Bob Kulick. Musically, we crank some tunes from Exhumed and Gruesome, as well as new Xibalba, Anonymous, Dereketa. and Sacrifice. Horns and Stay Healthy!

Episode 608: Angus Who? - interview with ACXDC
Friday May 29, 2020
Friday May 29, 2020
During the 80s "Satanic Panic", a certain Australian hard rock band came under fire for their monicker. Fast forward years later and California powerviolencers ACXDC took the concept and ran with it. We got stoked when the grinders signed on with Prosthetic Records and jumped at the opportunity to speak with vocalist Sergio Amalfitano. At that very moment the new album "Satan Is King" was being put out on the racks. Gotta love happy accidents. Mr. Amalfitano was quick to explain the history of their unique name and the concept of the new record. Great stuff in another long overdue chat. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we celebrate a shared Bday with some classic records. Musically, we crank the new ACXDC, Vader, Oz, Ulcerate, WVRM, Werewolves, Tombstoner, Pile of Priests (!!), and introduce Canadian thrashers Torrefy in our "indie Spotlight". Horns and Stay Healthy!

Episode 607: Metal Makes Us Feel Good - interview with Lord Vigo
Friday May 22, 2020
Friday May 22, 2020
German metallers Lord Vigo should be on your radar for a number of reasons. #1. We recently played them. #2. Their unique monicker really stands out. As does their unique epic doom meets NWOBHM sensibilities sound. #3, and most importantly, they've got an awesome new album "Danse De Noir" on the racks courtesy of the good folks at High Roller Records. So now's the time to get vox/(studio) drummer Vinz Clortho on the horn. We talked the new record, their new home, and their obvious love of sic-fi. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we talk bloody armpits (??!!) and crank tune from the new LV plus Sinister, Raspberry Bulbs, Power From Hell, Slaughter Messiah, Infernal Execrator, and introduce Florida doom rockers Northern Crown in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns and Health!!
