The memory of the legendary Ronnie James Dio will live on forever! Being one of the most influential figures in Metal history, RJD had his share of "disciples". Axe extrordinaire Craig Goldy's career was off and running before even meeting Dio. But it was his contribution to the last handful of DIO's (the band) years and albums that brought Mr. Goldy to the heavy metal forefront. Goldy's new band, DREAM CHILD, basically picks up where Dio left off. The project features Dio's last line up, including bassist Rudy Sarzo and drummer Simon Wright, and features a fresh new voice. In a Creature Feature long time coming, we sat down with Mr. Goldy. We discussed the new band and album, the "supergroup" concept, and the awesomeness that is RJD! Around here we don't have much need for these music "reality" type programs. They're basically glorified game shows that cater to Joe and Jane Average. The music sucks too! BANGER TV, headed by noted music documentarian Sam Dunn, set out to produce a competition series catered to the Metal connoisseur and the more musically inclined. The Shredders Of Metal was born. A six episode YouTube miniseries featuring six Canadian guitarists doing just as the monicker implies - shredding!! Spoiler alert: the winner was this week's Creature Feature Frankie Carracci. Canadian deathcore thrashers DEPTHS OF HATRED have been on our radar for a number of years now. Still a relatively unknown entity, they've been flogging it out in the metal underground since 2010. They produced a string of killer indie releases and now have taken that next step toward Metal domination. Italian death metallers HIDEOUS DIVINITY are having a banner year. Their killer third Unique Leader recording "Adveniens" has been an underground fave. They've taken their brutality on the road, crossing our great nation for the first time, giving us the opportunity for a long overdue chat. We caught up with vokillist Enrico "H" DiLorenzo. What has Agathocles wrought??!! The aggressive music underground has many sub-genres. Each of these has the potential to produce to their own sub-sub-genre. All it takes is the right band at the right moment with enough influence and they can kickstart the whole she-bang. Welcome to Mincecore! Oakland's HAGGUS took the Agathocles/mincecore blueprint, gorified it up a bit, and ran with it. Now, the power trio of putridity is at the forefront of the mincecore  sub-sub-genre. We caught up with axe/vox Hambone after a recent basement gig. Minus the black mask (no pics, we play up the gimmick here), we had a quick chat about their debut full-lengther, their unique gigs, and what exactly is mincecore is. There's two sides to every story, two sides to every coin. A couple of years back, we had a cool chat with Adam, the vocalist of Canadian hardcore band WITHDRAWAL. The band's Escapist Records debut "Never" was ready to drop and we spoke of his committment to straight edge.
