Episode 528: Significant Betters
Friday Nov 02, 2018
Friday Nov 02, 2018
The Music Biz has more than its share of unsung heroes. This day and age to "make it" in the Metal World a band has to be constantly out on the road. Just like any other form of entertainment, more often than not, the artist leaves their spouse at home while he/she pursues the Rock n Roll dream. Very seldom is the story of these significant others ever heard. "Blue" Spinazola (Fit For An Autopsy, Dysentery) is one of those road warriors and a good friend of the show. A package deal with "Blue" is his girlfriend Caitlin. She's a perfect candidate to represent this silent, but important, group. We had an awesome chat with Caitlin discussing dealing with him on the road and all the trials and tribulations it brings. Words of wisdom you won't soon forget. In our 'News, Views, and Tunes", we had a unique chat with none other than Micheal Myers about his new, smash "Halloween" film. As well, we get into Disturbed piercings, Marilyn Manson dildos, and the recent success of the returning As I Lay Dying. Musically we crank new tunes from Marduk, Craft, Blood Of The Wolf, and introduce Ottawa's Ominous Eclipse in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

What's in a name? For a Metal musician, the surname (stage name?) of Slayes is most appropriate. Brittany Slayes, vox of Canadian power metaller, and Napalm recording artists, lives up to her moniker. Case in point - all throughout the band's recent North American tour. WE caught up with Miss. Slayes as they came thru town on one of the few remaining dates. We had the pleasure to discuss all the whys and wherefores of the band including their most recent effort "Apex", the said tour, and their very Metal band name. In short, Brittany slayed!! In our " News, Views, and Tunes", we had a quick round table with close RAM friends Ninjacat Prod.'s Cory Thomas and "Ducky" Dustin Maruca about the new "Slave To The Grind" documentary. We also go over the legalization of marajahoobie in Canada (eh) and have an animated conversation about the recent Decrepit Birth stage diving incident. Musically, we crank Unleash..., Altered Dead, Carpathian Forest, and the legendary Agathocles! Horns and Happy Halloween!!

NY black metallers can be described a lot of different ways. Neo classical, avant garde, technical, all 'round bizarro come to mind. We just call it G.F.M. - Good Fuckin' Metal/Music!! This helacious trio are currrently terrorizing the nation on tour supporting their latest effort "Vile Luxury". Our newest RAMMer, "Big Willy", had his interview baptism of fire we he sat down with all three ITers: Ilya (axe, vox), bassist Steve Blanco, and skinsman Kenny Grohowski. Not to be outdone by the rook, Coreen contributed her own cool chat with returning RAM alum A Feasting Beast in an "Extended Indie Spotlight". In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we provide a PSA regarding respecting the women of the scene following a recent incident. Musically, we crank our guests plus new tunes from Terrorizer, Striker, and Extremity. Horns Up!!

Episode 525: Coming Up From Cali -Excel Interview
Friday Oct 12, 2018
Friday Oct 12, 2018
Good things may indeed come to those who wait. But when it comes to kick ass 'Creature Features" the sooner, the better. Crossover legends Excel go back to the mid 80s from the famed hardcore and skate scenes of Venice Beach, Cali! Vocalist Dan Clements was right in the thick of things from Day One all the way to their recent appearance in town for the SOS Fest! We had a long overdue chat with a dude who had a lot to get off his chest. We had a chat that wavered from the light and bouncy to the rather intense then back again. We spoke of Excel's reunion of sorts and his skating in 2018. Of course the elephant in the living room was the whole "Sandman" thingy. An Excel - ent conversation not to be missed! In our "News, Views, and Tunes!" we share stories from the live front and crank some classic Excel and new stuff from Behemoth, Acid Witch, Horrendous, and Neckbeard Deathcamp!! Horns!!

Since 2000, Washington's Mos Generator have been major force in the doom/stoner scene. Their strong cult following has been rabid for the myriad of releases. Their full lengthers for Listenable Records always get top priority as well. The latest effort " The Shadowlands" is mere months old and it's a "contenda" for sure. So... On a raining Tuesday night on their recent trip across the country, we sat down with vox/axeman Tony Reed (with bassist Sean Booth lurking). We discuss the new record, their relationship with Listenable, and Mr. Reed's Heavy Hand Recording studio. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", the Indie Spotlight returns in a HUGE way! We sat down with rising Wisconsin death metallers Casket Robbery. Vokillist Megan gave us the lowdown and we crank the latest EP! AS well we discuss our choice for Boston Music Awards and spin the latest Mos Generator, some of Tony's solo stuff, and new tunes from Scorched, Psycroptic, and Blood Of The Sun! Horns!!

Episode 523: Howling With The Moon
Friday Sep 28, 2018
Friday Sep 28, 2018
One of the most exciting tours currently pounding the Metal pavement is the Dark Tranquillity/Amorphis/Moonspell (w/Omnium Gatherum) trek. This triple threat were cut from the same cloth and careers ran many same parallels. These Master of Metal are no strangers to this show either. Last year we had the good fortune of sitting down with D.T. and Amorphis. This time its Moonspell's time in the RAM hotseat. Still touring their amazing "1755" concept album, vox/mainman Fernando Ribeiro was eager to give us a few. We spoke of the response of said brilliant record, this fantastic tour, and sharing wisdom to the next generation of Metallers. In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we discuss Kiss' farewell announcement and the recent study that regular concert attendance increases ones lifespan. Here's to immortality!! Musically we crank the Moonspell record, the new Deicide and Treasonist and Begrime Exemious! Horns!!

Episode 522: Spreading The Rumours
Friday Sep 21, 2018
Friday Sep 21, 2018
How cool are this week's "Creature Feature" artists, the legendary Vicious Rumors? Well, VR was Bay Area cool before the Bay Area was cool. Having their own sound, Rumors was never really put amongst their San Francisco breathren. Vicious was already off to the races with all your fave thrashers from the scene in supporting roles. Arguably, the 80s were the band's heyday but they never stopped producing awesome tunage throughout the decades. Now thirty years after their most succesful record, "Digital Dictator", The Vicious Ones have hit the road again to commemerate that monumental record. We sat down with Day One axeman Geoff Thorp. We discusss the pre- thrash days, celebrating 40 (!!) yrs, and the whole VR/Velvet Revolver controversy. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we get into some gear talk and some Metallica fan vs. Slayer fan type chat. Musically, we crank the latest Vicious Rumors, Niviane, 2 Minute Minor, and the new Infernal Coil! Horns!!

Episode 521: Getting Away With Away - Voivod interview
Friday Sep 07, 2018
Friday Sep 07, 2018
To no surprise, we've followed and admired veteran Canuck metallers VOIVOD right from the get-go. First, as mid-80s underground thrash darlings and literally throughout the decades, Voivod has always carved their own niche and followed the muses of their own creativity. All the while, they maintained the integrity of true musical artists. The one constant throughout has been the presence of drummer Away! The man saw all the victories... and defeats. They fought thru all the trials and tribulations and came out stronger for it. Through it all creating top drawer tunage. Recently, Voivod headlined the inaugural SOS Fest in Winnipeg. Even with the night in full swing, Mr. Away still found a few minutes to share some thoughts with us. We discussed the new album "The Wake", his definition of the Voivod sound, some "Jasonic" talk, and he answered another one of our thirty (!) year old queries. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we hit our local wrasslin' matches and comic shops. Musically, we crank the new Voivod, CAULDRON and CEMETERY LUST records. As well as some classic RAZOR! Horns!!
