This week's interview has been long time coming. Abysmal Dawn axe/vox Charles Elliot has been an ally and asset to this show for a number of years now. So when AD came thru town we were stoked for an opportunity for an in person "action" interview with the LA death metaller. We discussed the new EP, the current tour with Origin and the outfit's place in the Metal scene. As well, in response to the Pistol mini series (check out last episode), we share our choices of the artists we'd like to see get the bio series treatment. Over the years, the legendary Sex Pistols have become a polarizing topic. The Pistols are Punk rock trailblazers. But the outfit have had their sheer of critiques over being a marketing ploy to sell the latest "punk" fashion. As well, vocalist Johnny Rotten has come under fire for betraying his punk ethics in his later life. Regardless of the yays or nays, it cannot be denied that the Pistols story was one hell of a ride. The FX channel recently were brave enough to tackle the subject in a six part mini series. So we tore into it and are ready to share our thoughts. How do you follow up a legendary "Bucket List" interview? How about with a Juno Award winner! Like the lady said..."We're so excited!" First off, this is another milestone with episode 700!! Plus, we recently experienced a night of firsts at the recent Manitoba Metalfest. It was the first time the legendary Exciter played our neck of the woods. It was the first time we've seen the classic line up live. And finally, it was the first time we had the good fortune of getting drummer/vox Dan Beetler onto our interview hotseat. Our excitement for Exciter goes back as far as for Heavy Metal itself with the classic "Violence And Force" album. So we didn't even really know where to begin with Mr. Beehler. But at the same time we had a thousand questions for him. We discussed the band's history with Megaforce Records and what the future holds! Another Bucket List interview!
