Slasher Dave is probably most familiar to our listeners as the mainman behind the amazing Acid Witch. But every great artist has a strong versatility to their art. So when Dave's not killing it with his main gig, his alter ego Slasher Dave creeps out. Dave's love of all things Horror is never more evident than with the cool sounds this project conjures up. SD's music is his own instrumental interpretation of classic horror flicks. Case in point - his new album "Cannibal Death Gods" is a beautiful homage to the jungle cannibal flicks of yesteryear. So now's a great time to yack with Dave about the whys and wherefores of this record including the concept and what drives his unique art. Of course, we get an update on Acid Witch as well. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we celebrate Motorhead Day (the 8th of May) with a toast to Lemmy himself. Musically, we crank the new Slasher record plus some Acid Witch, Sarcofago, Devangelic, Horrific, Holocausto, and introduce South American deathsters Reptilium in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Once we sat down with grindcore/powerviolence trailblazer Chris Dodge (Spazz, Depise you, Infest), we knew this was going to be a unique episode. Apart from all these amazing projects he's plied his trade with, Mr. Dodge has left his mark on a variety of other aspects in the aggressive music community. So we sat down and had one helluva chat with the man. We discussed all his musical output, hailing from the Bay Area, Slap a Ham Records, and his love of specialty beers. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we take inspiration from Mr. Dodge's "No Corporate Beer" column in Decibel magazine and do a our own taste test from some of our local(ish) brews. Musically, we crank a bunch of Chris' projects as well as D.O.A.'s Joey Shithead's tribute to the front liners against this crisis. Big Horns especially to them!!

Friday May 01, 2020
Friday May 01, 2020
You have to strike while the Irons are hot. As this episode first goes to air, US death metalllers Unmerciful's latest platter "Wrath Encompassed" will only be a week to the day on the racks. So we had to get bassist Jeremy Turner on the horn. We discussed the band's switch to Willowtip, his live work with Cannibal Corpse, and quizzed him about any potential King Diamond jokes. But I think we may be starting those now (Ooops). In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss being a "professional drinker"(!!) and crank some tunes from Unmerciful and label mates Malignancy, Phobia and Extreme Noise Terror. Plus cool stuff from Morbid Angel, Destroyed In Seconds, Heinous, Chthonic Cult, and introduce Hamilton metallers Lutharo in our "Indie Spotlight". Stay Healthy and Horns Up!!

This week we have another veteran we should've had on a long time ago. Ash Thomas is a multi instrumentalist who's been tearing it up in the underground since '93. Most notable (past?) projects include Crucified Mortals and Archeron. Today Mr. Thomas is killing it with killer outfits like Hell's Headbangers Faith Xtractor and Shed The Skin. As well as Surgikill featuring Steve O from the legendary Impetigo! With his newest project Machinations of Fate recently hitting the racks courtesy of Redefining Darkness, we finally got him on the horn. We discussed all of the goings on with his bands and we discovered a mutual love of "WKRP in Cincinnati". We knew he was cool. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we share an embarrassing quarantined story and learn the expression "Djoom" (??). Musically, we crank the aforementioned Faith Xtractor and Surgikill. Plus some new tunage from Deranged, Torn in Half, Violation Wound and introduce Toronto bashers Cryptonight in our "Indie Spotlight". Stay healthy and Horns Up!!

Episode 602: Creepin' Us Out - interview with Creeping Death
Friday Apr 17, 2020
Friday Apr 17, 2020
Whats in a name? With their chosen monicker, no doubt young death metal guns Creeping Death have received more than their share of detractors. But to write this outfit off as mere clones would definitely be wrong. In a short period of these Texas bashers are really starting to come into their own. Creeping Death made waves last year with their debut full lengther "Wretched Illusions". On eOne, no less! So now is an awesome time to get axeman Trey Pemberton on the horn. We discussed signing on to a major and dealing with criticisms regarding it and their monicker. And of course dealing with covid as a band. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discussed the latest ticketmaster skullduggery. And of course, crank some awesome tunes from CD, Blood Red Throne, Benighted, Defeated Sanity, Judiciary, Errant, Foes, Funeral Leech, Crown of Thorns, and introduce Canadian metallers Immolith in our "Indie Spotlight". Stay healthy and Horns!!

Friday Apr 10, 2020
Friday Apr 10, 2020
"Heavy Metal finds a way". We're paraphrasing here a bit but the sentiment remains true. With all this crazy covd stuff going on, our beloved genre is still finding ways to entertain us. At the forefront are our good buddies with Reaper Metal Productions. RMP mainman Reaper (d'uh) is no stranger to the show having graced us in the past discussing his various musical projects. Now RMP has a myriad of wicked new tunes we've been playing and we've kept ourselves up date with his various other projects under the RMP umbrella. So now is a great time to get Reap (to his friend) back on the horn. We discussed their latest music releases, what RMP looks for in a artist, and dealing with covid. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we crank some cool tunes from Cirith Ungol, Destructor, Insatanity, Viogression, Dick Vomit, Perdition Temple, and introduce Canadian bashers Black Pestilence in our "Indie Spotlight". Stay safe, stay healthy, and Horns Up!!

Episode 599: Kiss Was Taken - interview with Thrust
Friday Mar 27, 2020
Friday Mar 27, 2020
For veteran Metallers, Thrust should have a special place in your Metal heart. During the early/mid 80s underground Metal explosion, Thrust's Metal Blade debut "Fists Held High" was part of that first wave of wicked records that paved the way. The mainman behind the outfit is axeman Ronnie Cooke. Mr. Cooke is an Iron Man of the Metal world and after all these decades he continues to kill it. In a long overdue interview we discuss the storied history of the band, their spot in the current Metal scene, and the 2020 concept of "Posers". Another chat off the old Bucket List! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss coping with the pandemic thru the scene. Musically, we crank some new and classic Thrust, label mates Lost Legacy and Spartan Warrior plus new tune from Nunslaughter and Shards Of Humanity. Horns!!

Episode 598: Going Viral
Friday Mar 20, 2020
Friday Mar 20, 2020
This week we stare the elephant in the living room right in the eye. The threat and fear of the coronavirus (didn't they support Anthrax in '87?) has brought the music scene (and the pop culture world) to a grinding halt. Tours are being postponed or cancelled. Venues are being being shut down. This is affecting your favourite radio show directly. Inactivity on the live front greatly hinders our ability to present our awesome "action" interviews every week. But all is forgiven this week as their are bigger things on the World's plate. We vent our frustrations but also offer up ideas to help combat this invisible enemy. But its not all doom and gloom. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we announce the signing of another awesome local outfit. Plus, we crank some tuna from Inter Arma, Sacred Reich, Virus, Lord Vigo, Imperial Savagery, Immortal Possession and introduce Russia's Neorhythm in our "Indie Spotlight". Stay healthy and Horns up!!

Episode 597: For Art's Sake
Friday Mar 13, 2020
Friday Mar 13, 2020
Something a little different this week. Metallica axeman Kirk Hammett makes no secret of this other passion...horror flicks. Over the years, Mr. Hammett has amassed quite a collection of vintage horror film posters and memorabilia. Almost a museum's worth. Or at least a fair amount to warrant it's own exhibit. Thus, "It's Alive! Classic Horror and Sci Fi from the Kirk Hammett Collection" is born. This travelling exhibition made a recent stop in our area so we had to make an evening of it. And of course share our experience with all our listeners. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we share our recent trip to T.O. and crank some tuna from Abigail, Sadus, Necrowretch, Machinations Of Fate, and introduce Canada's The Order Of Chaos in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!
