Episode 635: All Hail The King - interview with Brian Kingsland (Nile)
Sunday Dec 13, 2020
Sunday Dec 13, 2020
This week's "Creature Feature" will be most familiar with listeners for his recent (ish) work with the mighty Nile. South Carolina metaller Brian Kingsland was tapped to join the legendary outfit in '17 and swung his axe for last year's "Vile Nilotic Rites". But Mr. Kingsland is padding his resume elsewhere as well. His new project Imperishable dropped it's first single in anticipation of a 2021 EP. The tune is so impressive, we had to get him on the horn. We discussed the new project, joining Nile, and he shares a story involving the wonderful world of wrasslin'. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we discuss all this Cameo business, acknowledge the anniversary of the inspiration for "Smoke on The Water" and introduce the amazing DeathOrchestra!! Musically, we crank some new Terror, some classic Nile, Undeath, High Command, Anthropic, Urgehal, Bloody Hammers, the aforementioned DeathOrchestra and introduce Utah bashers Deathblow in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 634: This Is The Beginning - interview with Mors Principium Est
Friday Dec 04, 2020
Friday Dec 04, 2020
We remember the first time Finnish melodic death metallers Mors Principium Est came to our attention. The outfit was the first tune on a European metal mag's (we want to say Metal Hammer ??) promo comp. Their unique monicker stuck in our brains and never left. So now, with the band having dropped their latest album "Seven", we got on the horn with vox Ville Viljanen to get the first hand info. We also discussed recording during these challenging times and played "Ville's Choice" with his fave memories. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we play our "Will and Should" game with the Metal grammy nominees and rave about some classic records that were given a fresh coat of paint (metallic, of course). Musically, we crank the new MPE + Diamond Head, Nails, Serpent's Oath, Iron Saviour, Iron Mask, Call The Paramedic and Johnny NoCash and The Celtic Outlaws. Finally, we introduce not one, but two, Winnipeg black metal bands, Primordial Serpent and Kalameet, in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 633: Skoolz In!
Friday Nov 27, 2020
Friday Nov 27, 2020
Schools...in(?) This week we find ourselves on the other side of the mic. Mr. Mark Buell is an old friend and RAM alum who joined us in celebrating all that is Rush after the passing of Neil Peart (Epi. 590). Well, Mark recently hit us up for a favour. His son Issac was assigned a school project of creating his own podcast. Choosing the subject of the "History Of Heavy Metal", his "Cool Uncle Snowy" jumped at the chance to lend a helping hand. We also pressed "Record" on our end and found ourself in radio show Bizarro World. Of course, it was straight As all around. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we relive some our own high school memories and crank some new and classic tune from White Magician, Ilsa, Skeletal, Pessimist, Necrophagia and welcome the return of Montreal's Synastry in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 632: Bravo! Bravo! - interview with Lori Bravo (Nuclear Death)
Friday Nov 20, 2020
Friday Nov 20, 2020
Another one off the ole' "Bucket List"!! Our fandom with extreme pioneers Nuclear Death goes back to the turn of the '90s. The terrorific trio just released two killer records on the old Wild Rags Records label and had the attention of stereos throughout the underground. In another long time coming chat, we sat down with vox/bassist Lori Bravo. We could now write her biography as she regaled us with her early years discovering music. And to forming ND and all the trials and tribulations with being a female in that era of extreme music. Definitely an eye opening and captivating chat! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we crank some classic Nuclear + new Machetazo, Impetigo, Sadistic Intent, Old Funeral and Silence Equals Death. In our "Indie Spotlight" we introduce TX' Deathroll (feat. Kevin Talley). Horns Up and Stay Healthy!!

Episode 631: Lone Wolf - interview with Pulchra Morte
Friday Nov 13, 2020
Friday Nov 13, 2020
When we were offered a chance to speak with black/thrashers Pulchra Morte, we jumped at it. We were expecting we'd be hearing from vox Adam Clemens. But we were pleasantly surprised when axeman Jarrett Pritchard called. Mr. Pritchard not only has extensive experience in the underground, but he's also a producer extraordinaire. He's turned the knobs for some of our fave artists. We discussed the new record "Ex Rosa Ceremonia" as well as his early demo days and his work behind the board. In all, a most fascinating chat. In our "News, Views, and Tunes', we share some friend's choices for prez and share a heartwarming story courtesy of Hirax' Katon DePena. Musically, we crank the new PM + some Wolvhammer, Brutality, Master, Mercyless, Jesus Piece, Joel Grind, Whipstriker, Eulogy, Hanging Fortress and introduce L.A.'s Make Them Die Slowly in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns Up and Stay Healthy!

Episode 630: With Odin... - interview with Leaves Eyes
Friday Nov 06, 2020
Friday Nov 06, 2020
All Hail Odin!! Just last year we had the good fortune of having Leaves Eyes vocalists Alex Krull and Elina Sirralla on the show as they passed thru town. Now this year LE are helping us cope with this craziness with a cool new album. "The Last Viking" is an absolute battleshipburner of a record! So we jumped at the chance of having Mr.Krull on the show again. We discussed the new record, his legit Viking ways, and, being Atrocity fans, we had to get an update on that camp as well. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we present our "interview" with Angus Young, share our Record Store Day booty, and we our picks as to who in Metaldom we'd like to see as the new president. Musically, we crank the new Leaves as well as the aforementioned Atrocity, Hellripper, Convulse, Violent Life Violent Death, ACXDC, Angel Nation, and Dead Kennedys. Hails and Horns!! Stay Healthy!!

Happy Halloween!! As this episode first hits your earholes, October 31st will be a mere 24 hrs. away. So on the eve of All Hallow's Eve, we couldn't think of a more appropriate guest that the resurrected Evildead. The band was the '86 follow up project for Juan Garcia, who first came to our attention from his stints with Agent Steel and Abattoir. Mr. Garcia may also be familiar with more modern fans for his position as axeman with none other than Body Count!! So with new albums from both BC and ED on the racks, we had a "groovy" chat with Juan Of The Dead (Thank you Ice-T). We discussed the new record "United $tate$ Of Anarchy", his work with Body Count, and his thoughts of the late, great Riley Gale (Rest In Power!). In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss with artists we'd dress up as for Halloween and premiere a new songwritten, performed and recorded from our very own Aaron. Horns way up to that!! Musically, we crank the new Evildead plus the aforementioned Agent Steel and Abattoir. As well, as cool tunes from Exhumed, 45 Grave, Cropsy Maniac, Dolore, Werewolves, VHS, Zombie Assault and feature The Bloody Hell in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns up and Stay Healthy!

If one isn't a dedicated, die hard Kittie fan, then one might file this week's "Creature Feature" under "Where Are They Now?" But the quick answer to this might be Mercedes Lander "Never Left". True while the Kittie camp may be relatively silent right now, there's plenty going on with the kitty behind the kit. Lander's (side??) project The White Swan just dropped their fourth EP, "Nocturnal Transmission". Over the years we've never exactly hidden what big fans of Kittie we are. So we jumped at the opportunity to have Mercedes on again. We got into the Swan and the differences from her more famous outfit. As well, keeping with the season, we got a glimpse into Halloween at The Landers house. No tricks, all treat. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we crank the new EP plus Invincible Force, new/classic Impurity, Khemmis, Dead Quiet and Destroyer 666. In our "Indie Spotlight", we introduce Maryland's Lyonen! Horns Up and Stay Healthy!
