Friday October 13th! There’s no more appropriate day for a new album from horror Metal meisters EXHUMED. Now as we’re smack dab in the middle of the Halloween season, there’s no better Creature to Feature than mainman Matt Harvey. Mr. Harvey holds the record for most appearances on RAM and for damn good reason! Exhumed is a killer band with a killer discography, as well as all his other musical endeavours (GRUESOME, EXPULSION) consistently strike a power chord with us. His encyclopedic knowledge of all things horror is legendary. And he’s one sweetheart of a guy. We got into all the whys and wherefores of the new Death Revenge album, talk of his love of horror, and his recent tribute to the immortal George Romero. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we talk some Dave MooStaine (!) and bagpipes in the bathroom (!!). Musically we crank the new Exhumed, IRON MONKEY, and some classic DEATH! Horns!
The mid-to-late 2000s saw the emergence of a new wave of underground thrash. A new fraternity of young upstarts that took a direct influence from the classic 80s thrash masters. Think a gaggle of TESTAMENT/EXODUS offspring ready to take on the world. Leading the charge are LA thrashers WARBRINGER. The consummate road warriors, these warmongers have graced our stages many times, but only now have we been able to finagle a moment of vocalist John Kevill‘s time. We have a thought provoking chat dealing with their new record Woe To The Vanquished, their new Napalm Records home, and the insight into their lyrics. We speak of the band’s youth but Mr. Kevill has a wisdom beyond his years. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we go over the Metal hopefuls in this year’s Hall Of Fame. Musically we crank the new Warbringer, the new HAEMORRHAGE, MONSTROSITY, and DARKEST HOUR! Horns!
Everyday here at RAM is an adventure. In our valiant attempts to bring a kick ass Creature Feature each week, we find ourselves jumping through some serious hoops. The legendary DARK TRANQUILITY made their way through town recently and we were looking forward to speaking with vox Mikael Stanne. But trying to nail the man down for a few minutes proved taxing. When we did we found ourselves talking, it was in a not so tranquil environment. But a negative turned into a positive as the atmosphere made our chat a unique experience. We spoke of their latest effort Atoma, their vast catalogue, and headlining vs. supporting. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we go deep into the idea of how relevant to Metal the immortal Hugh Hefner was. Musically, we crank the new DT, the new ARCHSPIRE, and some DEBACHERY! Horns!!
