Episode 422: Seasons Of The Mysst

The mighty Season Of Mist Records has been a great friend of the show, almost since our inception. The Season roster has a metric shit ton of awesome artists that we’re more than thrilled to get behind. When it was announced that not one but two SOM artists were coming to town, we took the opportunity to put together a special episode. And both bands are Canucks too, eh. First up, Rob The Witch, vox and axe for NECRONOMICON, returns to the RAM hot seat. He shares his thoughts and views of the world, the music industry, and a love of CELTIC FROST. Labelmates BEYOND CREATION are leading the charge for the next generation of extreme metallers. Guitar/vocalist Simon Girard and drummer Phil Boucher take a break to discuss their latest Earthbound Evolution album and the whys and wherefores of the band. With all this going on, we had to enlist the services of our good buddy Aaron from the Iron City Rocks and Signal To Noise podcasts. Together we dive into another segment of Coreen’s Bag of Crap and get into the wonderful world of Pinterest. Finally we grab a stack of Season wax and crank our interview subjects, WEEDEATER, DEFILED and NECROPHAGIA. Whew! Horns!!

Episode 421: Nihilistic

This week, we have some catching up to do. Coreen took a brief hiatus so she could galavant through Europe while Roch took a trip back home to Canada, eh. So now we gather at the water cooler and trade our R and R stories. But it wasn’t all paper airplanes and bum photocopying around the office. We actually got some work done. Metal Blade recording artists RIVERS OF NIHIL recently came through town so we poured a cup of coffee with vox Jake Dieffenbach. He shared his thoughts on touring, their latest platter Monarchy, and the awesomeness that is their monicker. Think about it. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we put over the THE NIGHTMARE HORROR BAR in Prague, encounter a fave pro wrassler at the Montreal Airport, and we network for an A and R job. Musically we crank the aforementioned Rivers of Nihil record, some ANTHRAX, and some new tunes from JACKYL, GHOUL, and USURPRESS. Horns!!

Episode 420: The Scour Hour

The name John Jarvis may not fly off the old grey matter right away but the man’s impressive resume will make you go “Oh OK… coooool”. In the last couple of years, Mr. Jarvis has joined the ranks of grinders PIG DESTROYER and AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED, and is still tearing it up with FULGORA. All these names are no strangers to RAM. So when the busy bassist announced his involvement with black metallers SCOUR, we were quick to get him on the horn. With bandmates plying their trade in other well known projects, we discussed the supergroup concept, his fans digging his new sound, and the Pig Destroyer camp. We even talked a little baseball (!!). Sorry Dude, 2016 = Blue Jays year. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we mourn a legendary producer, go off on drunk drivers, and crank some Scour, Pig Destroyer, BLOOD FEAST, LIVING DEATH, MISERABLE FAILURE, and THE ZENITH PASSAGE. And in the Indie Spotlight, we feature HELL PUPPETS. Horns Up!
