Episode 342: Thirty Year Onslaught

Next to sex, nothing sells anything as well as controversy does. RAM exists solely for the love of the game so exploiting controversy for more selfish gains just doesn’t float our boat. We patiently waited three decades to hang with the legendary ONSLAUGHT. Fortunately, when we caught up with none other than guitarist Nige Rockett, it was  just days before the fit hit the Onslaught camp. We spoke of the response to last year’s brilliant VI record, Onslaught yesterday and today, and our mutual love of Metal Forces magazine. Definitely a “tell the grandkids moment” for RAM. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we yack some punk rock karaoke, porn stars, and introduce Chi Town’s TEXAS TOAST CHAINSAW MASSACRE in our Indie Spotlight. Horns!!!

Episode 341: Conquering Heroines

We’re not one to tell you what to do, but if we were to do that, we would tell you to keep an ear out for CONQUER DIVIDE in 2015. They’re a young band on the rise which first came to our attention a ways back when drummer Tamara first graced our show. It was a pleasure to catch up with this lovely young lady as she gave us the 411 on what’s going on with her band: their signing to Artery Records, recording their debut album, and their upcoming schedule in 2015. Being the smart-asses that we are, we can also add Conquer Divide to our “discovery/getting them signed” list as well. Whoo-Hoo!! In our News, Views, and Tunes, we shared our impromtu trip to see FOZZY, our accounts of the ONSLAUGHT and MASSACRE situations, commemorate the 10th anniversary of Dimebag’s passing, and crank some ACxDC. In our Indie Spotlight, we feature DISPLAY OF DECAY. It’s a great way to kick off the Xmas holidays. Horns Up!!!

Episode 340: Diehard The Huntress

The laundry list of great upcoming Metal artists is vast. Napalm recording artists HUNTRESS is definitely on the prowl and ready to pounce on the top of the totem. Currently impressing all while supporting ARCH ENEMY/KREATOR we caught up with Huntress vox Jill Janus for a very interesting chat. We discussed her eclectic religious beliefs, drafting axeman Eli Santana (HOLY GRAIL) into the fold, and her own personal Lemmy story. Blessed Be. In our News, Views, and Tunes, we go over own new MEGADETH fantasy football lineup, agree on the upcoming Grammys, and enjoy a little SEXCREMENT! Horns!!

Episode 339: Album Autopsy – Trouble’s Psalm 9 30th Anniversary

Today, we debut a new series: Album Autopsy! We take an influential and/or chart topping album and talk about every step it took to make it. Then we talk about every track, discussing lyrics, sounds, and everything that makes a song great. Our first subject is TROUBLE‘s genre-setting album Psalm 9. Released in 1984, this album has been influencing Doom Metal artists for 30 years. To help us celebrate this landmark album, we invited not one, not two, but three of it’s main architects! Joining us for this once-in-a-lifetime discussion is vocalist Eric Wagner, drummer Jeff Olson, and producer Bill Metoyer! The guys tell us stories about writing the songs, car accidents, and hanging out with Scott Baio! This is truly a must listen for fans of Trouble and Doom Metal! But the past is not the only thing we discuss: Eric and Jeff tell us about the new album they just released on TeePee Records with their new band THE SKULL. And Bill tells us about one of his latest projects, producing D.R.I.‘s first album in 20 years. In the Indie Spotlight, we introduce sludge/doomsters GALE from Phoenix, AZ. Horns up!
