Episode 545: Leader Of The Brand - interview with filmmaker Bob Nalbandian
Friday Mar 01, 2019
Friday Mar 01, 2019
Once again an old comrade (a friendship as old as RAM itself) joins us. Bob Nalbandian was our very first interview and its been a pleasure speaking with him over the years. Mr. Nalbandian has been the Man About MetalTown. He's worked as a journalist, DJ, podcaster and now, most recently, film documentarian producing his fabulous "Inside Metal" series. His most recent project "Band Vs. Brand" deals with a controversial subject today. When does a band become a brand? Commerce over art and integrity? This film gets the 411 right from the various sources currently embroiled in the craziness. And Bob shares all with us. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we chime in with our thoughts on the matter particularly with the recent Static X and Doyle issues. Musically, we crank new tunes from Venom Prison, Insanity Alert, Primitive Man, and we introduce Canadian bashers Culled in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!

Episode 544: Snubesis
Friday Feb 22, 2019
Friday Feb 22, 2019
We'll call this a Snow Day episode. Basically, we're going to forego our usual "Creature Feature" segment this week. So essentially we have the week off so we pretty much just kicked back, cracked open some of our faves, and talked Metal shop. Joining us to share his thoughts is Coffee Bean Occulta, mainman from the good folks at Trve Kvlt Coffee. We get into the Vinnie Paul grammy memorial snub, the tim lambesis marriage announcement (Happy F'n Valentines Day!!) and our initial reaction to the "Lords Of Chaos" flick. The conversation got so hot it literally set off the smoke alarm! Musically, we crank the new Opprobrium, Omenfilth and we introduce the UK s/e vegan hardcore bashers xServitudex in our "Indie Spotlight"! Horns!!

Episode 543: C.O.C. Y&T - interview with Corrosion Of Conformity
Friday Feb 15, 2019
Friday Feb 15, 2019
Last year we had the pleasure of a phoner interview with Corrosion Of Conformity axeman Woody Weatherman on the eve of the release of their latest platter "No Cross No Crown". Now, fast forward and the mighty C.O.C. are back on the road supporting the record. Their recent stop in "Winterpeg" (!), Canada afforded us the unique opportunity to follow up our chat with an in person sit down with "Woodrow". Always a delightful conversation, we discussed the response to "NCNC", C.O.C - y and t, covering Queen (!!), and just why are bands from southern States touring Canada in February (!!!). So stoked for this chat as we back as fans to the original crossover daze. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", there's more fallout from the Lambesis saga, Eyehategod vs. Arkansas senator, and shovelling snow for rock n roll! Musically we crank the latest C.O.C., Downfall Of Gaia, Berkowitz, and introduce Virginia's Enforced in our "Indie Spotlight". Horns!!

Valentine's Day Massacre
Thursday Feb 14, 2019
Thursday Feb 14, 2019
Happy Valentine's Day, Bros and Bras!! In honour of this sacred day of love, we here at Radioactive Metal are presenting this special gift of the rebooting of our "Valentine's Day Massacre" episode. We're basically celebrating the occasion in our own sick, twisted way. First up we had a fantastic chat with local Heavy Metal model Krystal Vandalism. "Special K" is a good friend of the show and brings her own cool story to the table. Over a couple adult bevies, Miss. Vandalism shares with us the good, the bad, and the ugly of the modelling world. And of course, we share our mutual love of Metal! As well, we (re)introduce the Metal world to The Mentors (!), learn what a "blumpkin" is, and play a rather rousing game of F.M.K. Musically, we crank some Vaultwraith, Festerday, some new Mentors, Homewrecker, F.Y.P.M., Tony Reed, Vesication, Elbow Deep, and Blumpkin Spice Latte! So press play, cuddle up with that special someone, and pray your relationship survives this episode! Luv Always, The Dudes and Dudette at Radioactive Metal

Episode 542: BFF! Blood Feast Forever! - interview with Bloodfeast
Friday Feb 08, 2019
Friday Feb 08, 2019
Way back during our inaugural year on the air, one of our first featured guests was 80s thrash titans Bloodfeast. It was a down period for the band but being big 'Feast fans we were stoked to speak with mainman Adam Tranquilli. Fast forward a decade and one of NY's finest are on the comeback trail with a killer new album "Future State of Wicked" with none other than Hell's Headbangers. Keeping the momentum going, BF recently released a killer new EP in "Chopped, Sliced, and Diced". This time we got bassist Tom Lorenzo on the horn. Despite being in BF ten years, "Future..." marked his recording debut. We jumped into his becoming a Feaster, their deal with HH, and he shared a tale of Heavy Metal camaraderie. In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we took the Penguin Plunge for the Special Olympics!! Musically we crank some new and classic 'Feast, Misery Index, At War, Section H8, Gravehuffer, Boghaunter and introduce Necronomichrist in our "Indie Spotlight'. Horns!

Episode 541: The Music Awakens - interview with Wake
Friday Feb 01, 2019
Friday Feb 01, 2019
Canadian grinders Wake had a stellar 2018! Their break thru Translation Loss album "Misery Rites" was the toast of the grindcore town. Touring North America and being featured in Metal publications had the band in the thick of things for year end accolades. Being good Canadian boyz (eh) they had no prob crossing the country in the dead of winter. We caught up with vocalist Kyle Ball during their recent stopover in town. We discussed the success of said record and the trials and tribulations of being on the road. Run, don't walk, and grab a copy of "Misery Rites" today! In our "News, Views, and Tunes", we discuss "old timers" skateboarding and pay tribute to RAM alum Bruce Corbitt (Rigor Mortis, Warbeast). Musically, we crank Wake's latest, Ossuarium, Reagan SS, and The Moth Gatherer! Horns!!

Episode 540: Bello Hurray - interviews with Anthrax and Dust Prophet
Friday Jan 25, 2019
Friday Jan 25, 2019
Another one off the old "Bucket List"! Our fandom for the legendary Anthrax goes back as far as our interest in Metal itself. So we were front row centre to witness the rise of the "Big Four" concept. When 2 of those 4 meet up and get the creative juices flowing you know you're in for something special. Altitudes and Attitude are an amazing new(ish) collaborative effort from 'Thrax and Megadeth bassists Frank Bello and Dave Ellefson. In an interview decades in the making we sat down with Mr. Bello to talk a little A and A. We got the 411 on the project (Frank is an axeman as well), reminisce about first meeting "Junior" and get into some old school Anthrax!! An amazing chat with one of the nice guys in Rock, fer sure. As well, in our "Extended Indie Spotlight" we talk to Manchester NH's stoner rockers Dust Prophet! Remember you heard 'em here first. In our "News, Views and Tunes", we acknowledge the dubious anniversary of the infamous Ozzy bat head incident. In light of recent events, we discuss Cannibal Corpse's spot on the Slayer farewell tour. Musically we crank our guests and new tunes from Raven, In The Fire and A Pale Horse Named Death! Horns!!

Episode 539: Killit 'Em All - interviews with Wristmeetrazor and Annihilator
Friday Jan 18, 2019
Friday Jan 18, 2019
This week we find ourselves focusing on a couple young killer outfits that are poised to turn some heads in a big way! Metalcore (revivalists ??) Wristmeetrazor's label debut (Prosthetic) is fresh on the racks. Having already raised some eyebrows with their controversial monicker, they're about to bludgeon your ears with this solid record. We spoke with bass/vox Justin Furnof about the whys and wherefores of the band including their debut and said band name. We stoked to be on the ground floor with this cool outfit. As well, we caught up with Canadian axeman Aaron Homma. Currently this young gun is most noted as second guitar for thrash legends Annihilator. But he takes front and centre for his own project, the pop culture homage metallers Killitorous. In a cool chat in our "Extended Indie Spotlight", Mr. Homma explains the idea behind his unique outfit and landing the gig with Annihilator. Gotta say, Killitorous is easily one of the best band names ever! In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we discuss the recent international news making "tampon spot" from pro wrestler (and RAM alum) "Hell's Favourite Harlot" Priscilla Kelly. As well as the feel good Vio - Lence reunion and punk bible "Maximum Rock N Roll" ceasing the print format (Boo!). Finally, we feature a shit ton of tunes including our the latest from our guests plus Vomitor, Genocide Pact, Gruesome, Scissorfight, FaithXTractor, and Childbite! Whew! Horns!!

Episode 538: The 2018 Rammy Awards
Friday Jan 11, 2019
Friday Jan 11, 2019
2018 is in the books! As we change the calendar and prepare to break our New Years Resolutions, this is a time for reflection on the past 365 days. What a rollercoaster of highs and lows the year was! Fans of extreme and underground music don't put much stock in awards shows. We have our own idea of what's good and how to celebrate it. Thus The 12th Annual Rammy Awards! Basically this year end episode is our piss take on the grammies. We go over what moved us the most in categories that Metal fans actually give a flying fukk about - Band, Album, Song, Live Show, News Story a.o. And as is tradition we select our nominees into the R.A.M. (Thus RAMmy, geddit??) Hall Of Fame. Musically, we rep some of the finest/coolest tune the year had to offer with Yob, Tomb Mold, Neckbeard Deathcamp, and Blood Of The Sun. Heres to the year that was and Horns to another amazing year!

Episode 537: Chaos Begins - interview with Flotsam And Jetsam and Inhumed
Friday Jan 04, 2019
Friday Jan 04, 2019
Let's hit the 2019 ground running! When veterans Flotsam and Jetsam first jumped onto the Metal scene they really stood out. First because of their unique monicker. Then they established themselves as an unfuckwithable force whose career would surpass three decades and (now) 14 records with the arrival of their new platter, "The End Of Chaos"! Axeman Micheal Gilbert is the FandJ driving force and is no stranger to RAM having been in our hotseat before. This time 'round we pick his brain about the new record and their spot with AFM Records. We discover a mutual love of hockey. And we go over the recruitment of their amazing new skinsmen, none other than Mr. Ken Mary!! All this and nary a word of you-know-who! We're also stoked to bring you a fantastic chat with Canadian death metallers Inhumed in our "Extended Indie Spotlight"! Vokillist Mike Mason sat down with us to give us the 411 on his awesome project. In our "News, Views, and Tunes" we butt heads with some some hardcore buttheads and get into the ridiculousness that is Acidic Vaginal Liquid Explosion Generated by Mass Amounts of Filthy Fecal Fisting and Sadistic Septic Syphillic Sodomy Inside the Infected Maggot Infested Womb of a Molested Nun Dying Under The Roof of a Burning Church While a Priest Watches and Ejaculates in Immense Pleasure Over His First Fresh Fetus. *Whew* Yes, that's a band name!! Musically, we crank our guest's latest efforts plus The Ocean, Funeral Chic, Owlcrusher, and (Acidic Vaginal... abbreviated monicker) Xavlegbmaoffassssitiwoamndutroabcpwaeiippohfffx!! Happy New Year and Horns to 2019!
